MY KiCKASS LiFE : A New Moon Photo Journal

Last week, I busted out my camera for a lil' New Moon photo session. It was such a pretty day, so peaceful & good...

"A photograph can be an instant of life captured for eternity that will never cease looking back at you." -Brigitte Bardot

Otis, The Jungle Cat, gets in touch with his stalking, primal side & some really tall weeds...

I was having the most excellent, kickass day, when I decided to do a little 3 card tarot spread, which basically just confirmed that- "Yup- you're having the most excellent, kickass day"...

I always take a hummingbird sighting as a sign of good luck & happiness. Fortunately, the Bottlebrush Tree (Callistemon) right outside my front door is a magnet for hummingbirds...

Okay- this is just too crazy... I LOVE Edith Piaf, cats & funky 70s-style art. My husband & I were out on a walk when we saw that a neighbor had left this large, heavy wooden piece of art on the curb to be taken out with the trash. We both stopped dead in our tracks & looked at each other like, "No Way!" It was just too meant to be. You seriously could not find a more ME piece of art & so we stopped our walk mid-way & carried our surprise treasure from The Universe home in amazement...

This is basically my son's 24-7 POV, or it would be if he didn't have to do pesky things like eat, sleep, bathe & go to school. He is the most golf ball obsessed person on the planet! He's got hundreds & hundreds & HUNDREDS of them & what he likes to do is scratch them against the sidewalk using a whole lot of elbow grease & persistence to get to the core inside. Note the pink, worn down battle wounds on his nail beds... Ouch!

This is my Ostara Egg Spell gone wild! I planted some collard green seeds and a wish inside a carefully cracked open egg shell & this was the afro-esque result. Pretty cool, huh? The sprouts, having quickly outgrown their temporary home, are now putting down roots in the back yard...

This is the current reading program (I tend to read several books at once, moving whim to whim in a circular motion) & my most recent journal, which I've dubbed "The Book Of Intent"...

Stanley! It's almost impossible to take his picture from a distance. He likes to get all up in your business, exploring the camera with his nosy cat nose...

There's that tree again! This pic I like because of the way the early morning sunlight is coming through in multicolored polka dots. Love the big red dot in the bottom left-hand corner & the mysterious, alien blur to the right...

This is what's happening on my bedside table right now, a mugwort-rosemary dream pillow, some favorite crystals, the Tarot Oracle, a Minerva bust, and my tiny string doll, which I named "Vasilisa" after reading Women Who Run With The Wolves...

This guy is hilarious. He yells at my cats from the safety of "his" tree, does the funky chicken dance on the roof for no apparent reason, and goes to town, stuffing himself with mulberries while balanced precariously on the flimsiest, bounciest branches...

Billy finally replaced the bamboo fence on the side yard. It looks so nice & fresh and cost no more than twenty bucks. Makes us wonder why we left the old, grey, ratty stuff up so long...

Chickweed. Isn't it a darling plant? It's also quite edible & YUMMY in salads & smoothies...

Have A Beautiful Day!
