3 Kickass Tips For Falling In Love With Your Own Natural Beauty

You ARE Beautiful, and I don't have to see you to know that. You are beautiful, because we are all beautiful.

And- despite whatever beauty standard the mainstream media is pushing these days & no matter how far from that you feel you are, I KNOW that you can find a way to appreciate your God-given beauty, and that you will, in turn, be allowing the rest of us to appreciate it too...

"There is no definition of beauty, but when you can see someone's spirit coming through, something unexplainable, that's beautiful to me." -Liv Tyler

3 Kickass Tips For Falling In Love With Your Own Natural Beauty

1. What is your favorite feature? What do you really like about the way you look? Surely you can find one thing. You may have an hour glass figure, shiny hair, dainty feet, mesmerizing eyes, graceful hands... whatever it is- make that the focal point when you're getting dressed up to go out. Play it up. Honor it. Exaggerate it.

Do you have a really dazzling set of pearly whites? Sport a pretty red lipstick to draw attention to your teeth.

Maybe your calves are especially curvacious? Show them off with a pair of kickass heels & a knee-grazing skirt.

A long, slender neck can be highlighted with a pony tail and a rocking pair of earrings.

The point is to focus on what you love, and find new ways to dress it up. Let your beauty be a source of pleasure for you.

2. Take a good look at your ancestors, especially the ones who hold a special place in your heart. Really look at their body shapes & facial features, not with a critical eye but through the eyes of love. Look for what it is you find strong, interesting or attractive about their appearance.

Does red hair & freckles run in your family? What is beautiful about that? Maybe you inherited your aunt's porcelain complexion, your mother's broad shoulders or your grandfather's dimples? Can you see the gift in that?

3. Choose a facial feature or a body part that you have not yet learned to love, hop on the internet or browse through some magazines, and make yourself a file or collage of beautiful people who share that feature.

That was my intention when I created this board, Your Lovely Nose, and I have to say that it definitely made me feel better on a day when I was feeling less than stellar about my triangle-shaped nose, which, by the way, I inherited from my biological father. He was extremely handsome...

"I arrived in Hollywood without having my nose fixed, my teeth capped, or my name changed. That is very gratifying to me." -Barbra Streisand
