The Weekly Witch Review #119 : Witch Court, Harry Potter Yoga, Medicine Dolls, Hairy Women & More!

TGiF Witches...

Welcome to the latest edition of "The Weekly Witch Review", a kickass guide to all things new & exciting (or at least new & exciting to me) on the wonderfully wacky world wide web...

I was super honored to have a voice in this piece about Witches & Feminism. And yeah- in case you hadn't realized, I am the scariest of scaries... a feminist witch! Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Lilith Was A Hairy Woman.

Got your energetic panties in a bunch over the current state of politics? Have no fear, witchy woman extraordinaire Molly Roberts has got you covered...

BRUJA : Wendy C. Ortiz's magickal new dreamnoir.

Should one spend $30 on a jar of dust?

Anne Lamott on The Chaos of Now...

It’s good to be afraid, when it mobilizes us to fight tooth and nail for what is right, when it pricks the balloon of our complacency, when it gets us back on our feet.

Are you on Twitter? If so- you MUST follow Richard Osmond's @WitchCourt for a uniquely illuminating experience. He posts actual accounts from the witch trials of olde as if they were happening in real time. It's both terrifying and absurdly comical all at once.

Anthony William, The Medical Medium, reminds me so much of a modern, more grounded version of Edgar Cayce for the 21st century.

Super-Human Energy For Everyone : The energy emitted by people who have reached an advanced level in meditation practice has been shown by multiple studies to exceed normal human levels by hundreds or thousands of times.

One awesome someone recently shared with me a link to these crone-like Medicine Dolls & I thought they were just so cool! This one is my favorite...

One witch's potato picking Come-To-Magick moment.

I'm so excited to see The Eagle Tree, a book with an autistic protagonist, getting so much praise & attention...

"I felt like I'd given someone a voice who didn't have one."
-novelist Ned Hayes

Yup. Harry Potter Yoga is a thing.

I firmly believe that power reveals who you really are. That goes for power acquired through fame, money, politics... or magick. You can be extraordinarily powerful & rotten to the core, using your power to act out your deepest fears & shadow fantasies. Or- you can wield it with exceptional grace & kindness. The choice is yours, but do keep in mind that what you put out you get back in one form or another and the more power you have, the more powerfully you will feel this energetic exchange.

Super fascinating! And weird. Humans are weird. And fascinating... The "love hormone" oxytocin might also promote ethnocentrism.

Mojo City : A Secret History of Memphis Hoodoo: Rootworkers, Conjurers & Spirituals.
