POP WiTCH : Waiting Like A Crazy Lady For The Season Finale Of Game Of Thrones...
Tonight is the season finale of Game Of Thrones & I've basically lost my mind in anticipation! Can you believe last week's Red Wedding episode??? What a shocker :0O
Anyway- I was just sitting here, chomping at the bit, waiting for my show to begin, when I thought I'd pass the time with another POP WiTCH post. It's been a while...
*POP WiTCH is a random mashup of what I'm grooving on today in Pop Culture...
★ I went through a big Hypatia phase at the beginning of the year & read every single thing about this resolutely Pagan philosopher-mathematician-astronomer-teacher that I could get my hands on. She really did defy the odds & held her ground for as long as she could before her stoning death at the hands of an angry Christian mob.
Her story really ignited something in me & I was so pleased to stumble upon a movie about her life, starring one of my favorite actresses, Rachel Weisz. It is sadly fitting too that Agora only received a limited release, due to controversy over the way that Christians were depicted.
I watched it on iTunes & loved every minute of it's moving (albeit Hollywoodized) depiction of this dynamic, empowered & empowering historical figure...
Totally shifting gears & making a hard left into superficiality, here are my top three go-to style blogs, all blogs that I've be following for quite a few years...
★ Sea Of Shoes for a glimpse into the glamorous, privileged life of Jane Aldridge...
★ Vanessa Jackman for the best of fashion week street style (& beyond)...
★ Advanced Style for the love of fabulous older women...
And- you know I always have a few new books to brag on & those would now be, in no order of importance...
★ The Witch Of Portobello by Paulo Coelho...
★ Jesus Through Pagan Eyes by Rev Mark Townsend...
★ My Life In France by Julia Child...
That's it. Just some random snapshots of what I'm digging on now, and I will leave you with my current favorite tune as a long-standing fan of Devendra Banhart...
MUCH LOVE -xo
