POP WiTCH : Waiting Like A Crazy Lady For The Season Finale Of Game Of Thrones...

Tonight is the season finale of Game Of Thrones & I've basically lost my mind in anticipation! Can you believe last week's Red Wedding episode??? What a shocker :0O

Anyway- I was just sitting here, chomping at the bit, waiting for my show to begin, when I thought I'd pass the time with another POP WiTCH post. It's been a while...

*POP WiTCH is a random mashup of what I'm grooving on today in Pop Culture...

)O(

I went through a big Hypatia phase at the beginning of the year & read every single thing about this resolutely Pagan philosopher-mathematician-astronomer-teacher that I could get my hands on. She really did defy the odds & held her ground for as long as she could before her stoning death at the hands of an angry Christian mob.

Her story really ignited something in me & I was so pleased to stumble upon a movie about her life, starring one of my favorite actresses, Rachel Weisz.  It is sadly fitting too that Agora only received a limited release, due to controversy over the way that Christians were depicted.

I watched it on iTunes & loved every minute of it's moving (albeit Hollywoodized) depiction of this dynamic, empowered & empowering historical figure...

Totally shifting gears & making a hard left into superficiality, here are my top three go-to style blogs, all blogs that I've be following for quite a few years...

Sea Of Shoes for a glimpse into the glamorous, privileged life of Jane Aldridge...

Vanessa Jackman for the best of fashion week street style (& beyond)...

Advanced Style for the love of fabulous older women...

And- you know I always have a few new books to brag on & those would now be, in no order of importance...

The Witch Of Portobello by Paulo Coelho...

Jesus Through Pagan Eyes by Rev Mark Townsend...

My Life In France by Julia Child...

That's it. Just some random snapshots of what I'm digging on now, and I will leave you with my current favorite tune as a long-standing fan of Devendra Banhart...

MUCH LOVE -xo

  1. All throughout our planet history smart, strong and independent women have being destroyed by many forms of religious beliefs. I remember seeing the movie trailer but never saw it at any of our independent films theaters.
I like how you defined Sea of Shoes as glamorous and privileged. Its an amazing blog but I just couldn't related to the fact that some of those shoes cost more than all my utilities bills combine.
Love Advance Style and anything that Julia Child wrote or created.

    1. So well said about women throughout the ages & I totally agree about Sea Of Shoes. She is most certainly privileged. I guess I sometimes enjoy taking a peek into how that infamous 1% live! LOL. She also has excellent style- got it her from her mama.

  2. Oh my heck, GAME OF THRONES!?!?! So, we don't have access to season three yet (we refuse to get cable and it's only available to us on Amazon) and I am dying! Everyone's reactions are to this season are getting me so excited! I can freely admit here (I mean, my living room too...because who cares?) but I have a HUGE crush on John Snow. I just know in my fantasy world I could be the sweet lady he needs in his life! I love the Pop Witch posts! I just started doing "current faves" on my blog and they are really quite fun. I can't wait to check out some of your suggestions!
