BiZ WiTCH : How You Do Anything Is How You Do Everything... Including (And Especially) How You Run Your Business...
Yesterday's episode of HiPPiE WiTCH : Magick For A New Age explored the belief that How You Do Anything Is How You Do Everything.
It's a belief that I hold deeply, because I have seen it supported in myriad ways over the years....
I have seen it especially in the way people do business online- good people- witchy people, new agey healers, readers, teachers, helpers & all variety of artsy folk.
They want to be of service. They want to make the world a better place, but they feel ashamed or guilty for asking people to pay for their services. Sometimes they feel so hung up on this that they wind up giving it all away for free...
Look familiar? If you're new to running your own biz- I'm guessing it does.
So- what does that say about you? As a person I mean and in general?
It might be saying that you are a person who does not yet know your true worth.
You may not value who you are or what it is you have to offer.
Business is funny like that. And cool. If you look at it as a kind of reflection of how you do everything, you can learn all kinds of interesting things about yourself that you might not see otherwise...
That's because the way you approach biz is the way you most likely approach everything, and there's power in knowing that.
So, for example, the way you feel taken advantage of in your personal relationships might be reflected back at you in the way you struggle to set fair prices (and when I say "fair"- I mean fair to YOU).
Or- the way you always feel invisible at big family get togethers might be echoed back at you in the way you have a really hard time asking for the sale- or even letting people know that you have a service or product to sell in the first place.
You see what I mean? It's the same issue showing up again & again in a variety of ways, because life is showing you who you are.
And- that is not a bad thing. It's an opportunity- truly- a kickass opportunity to do a bit of spiritual work around your sense of worthiness, to raise your self esteem, learn to set healthy boundaries or stand up for yourself, and, in that way, your biz can absolutely be a spiritual practice.
Your business can offer you the chance to grow in so many ways beyond the financial.
It can help you to see your entire life in a whole new way and it can teach you to value who you are across the board, and (BONUS POINTS), in doing that, you help your audience, clients and fans do the same.
In raising the bar on self esteem for yourself, you raise the bar for everyone.
Okay- but- so what if when you peer into the crystal ball that is your online biz, you see an entirely different issue?
Perhaps you see a kind of neediness or desperation disguised as bravado there?
Maybe you see a domineering quality that puts people off or an insensitivity to other people's needs?
Whatever it is- it's good.
It's good that you can see it, and it's good that you're the kind of person who is willing to make the effort to see it, because, once you are able to see it, you can change it, and once you change that- you can change all kinds of things, because truly, I kid you not... How You Do Anything Is How You Do Everything, and that might just go doubly for biz.
