BOOK NERD : Kickass Quotes From Diary Of A Psychic : Shattering The Myths by Sonia Choquette

I believe that we are all psychic to one degree or another and that there is a lot you can do to enhance your natural psychic ability.

As with all gifts, some are born with more talent in this area than others, and some are blessed enough to have been raised in a family that actually nurtures and helps to further bring out one's psychic gifts.

Sonia Choquette was born into one such family. Her mother was a passionate psychic who taught her children from a very early age how to tap into the spirit world.

Sonia clearly adored her mother and all her subsequent teachers. Being a professional psychic seems to be her calling, if this book is to believed, and I do believe it. It's an autobiography and reads very much like a story, a tender, personal story, and I liked it very much.

I read Diary Of A Psychic around the same time I listened to her audio book, Ask Your Guides, and I feel the two go very well together in terms of giving a solid overview of what the life of a professional psychic might look like, and, of course, for picking up some neat tricks for developing your own psychic gifts.

Many of the quotes below are actually quotes of quotes. They are the things that Sonia remembers her teachers saying to her over the years, and they're filled with little bits of wisdom for those of us willing to take them in...

"...you must turn your attention completely inward, absolutely stop talking in your mind, and listen. Just listen. And that's it. You will hear them." -Sonia Choquette

"You will mess up. Believe me, you will. There's no way around that. That's just the next classroom. You'll learn along the way." -Sonia Choquette

"I'd lived in France for many incarnations and was part of the tradition that designed the tarot as a means of retaining the secret wisdom of Hermes Trismegistus, especially during the Crusades and the Middle Ages, when esoteric and metaphysical teachings were at risk of being lost to the world forever." -Sonia Choquette

"It was an awesome and humbling experience to see how magnificent all people really are, even if we're in the process of creating a big mess of things." -Sonia Choquette

"I wanted happy endings for everyone. I was going to be a profound guide, teacher, and healer as well as a psychic. I was going to show people how to create the future they desired be learning how to make honest and correct choices instead of being careless and sloppy. I would do it by using my psychic gifts and sharing my own mistakes. We'd learn together." -Sonia Choquette

"Karma varies from soul to soul, but all souls have karma, and the root of all karmic lessons is to arrive at unconditional love for self and others." -Sonia Choquette

"All psychic experiences are really our soul reminding us not to become so hypnotized by the material plane or our egos or our personalities, that we forget that really we are spirit, co-creating with God." -Sonia Choquette

"...we have everything to do with what happens to us, and as spiritual beings we actually co-create with the Universe all the events we experience. Every one." -Sonia Choquette
