The Weekly Witch Review #71 : Goth Pets, The Magick Of Ayurveda, A Heathen-Owned Meadery & More!

TGiF Witches...

Welcome to the latest edition of "The Weekly Witch Review", a kickass guide to all things new & exciting (or at least new & exciting to me) on the wonderfully wacky world wide web...

Are you an acquired taste?

Win From Within : If you know anything about me, you probably know that I don't give one HOOT about sports. Like not at all. Not one. But... I REALLY- like really really absolutely adore this commercial, featuring Serena Williams. Gets me all choked up every time it comes around...

Q : If you were a tennis player, who would you like to be like?

A: Well- I want other people to be like me.

A Trip To Bohemian Utopia : This fashion shoot is a little all over the place, BUT- if you top just about any hippie-esque outfit with a big black hat, all I see is Witch...

★ Still grooving on Taylor Ellwood's series on Pop Culture Magick.

Goth Pets.

"Your life is nothing but a series of choices: the most important thing you can do is to make good decisions. And don’t think that not making a decision is an option— that’s still a decision, and its a bad one"... Such a thoughtful, lovely post by Rebecca at Cauldrons & Crockpots.

The Magick Of Ayurveda.

Meadery. There's a word I've never heard... Meadery. I kinda love it! Especially when you put it with the words "Heathen Owned". Ha! Look out, Delaware--- You're about to get your first Heathen-Owned Meadery!

When Lauren Ash of Black Girl In Om asked artist & seer Sharon Bridgforth to describe herself, this is the all kinds of kickass answer she received...

I am a child of the Great African-American Migration. I am the
beneficiary of the courage, brilliance, sacrifices, dreams, prayers
and lives of my family, of the ancestors and of the many who
envision and work to make the world a better place.

I am an L.A. gurlboi. A grown wildchild. I am a lesbian, a mother,
a lover of beautiful coffee, the ocean, french bulldogs and pugs. I am
an artist, offering my work in service of connection, inspiration and
healing. I am a believer in joy and the full moon.

Hippie Witchy Awesomeness… Have you seen the super cute goodies happening at Natural Life shop? Give. Love. Laugh. Indeed!

★ This is just a random share about ME that will probably only matter to you if a) you live in L.A. b) you are an enthusiastic Quentin Tarrantino fan or c) you are wild about old movie theaters. At any rate- this theater means A LOT to me. I used to go there at least once a week back when I was a broke, struggling single mom/Hollywood hopeful, because the movies were still new (albeit at the end of their run) and only cost $1.50...

The historic Beverly Theater was saved from redevelopment by Quentin Tarantino when he purchased the entire building in 2007. It's been close to a year now that he's been handling all of the  programming himself. This means that not only are the double features all from Quentin's personal collection, but they're all shown in 35MM. True to character, the offering is a mix of super obscure Kung-Fu flicks, kitschy '80s comedies, and respected cinematic classics. (via GOOP)
